Design Inspirations – Its never too late
Jan Logan shared her story at the Women of Influence lunchtime event hosted in the Prince Room at the RACV Royal Pines Resort. Jan’s message was that it is never too late to start a new adventure.
Jan fondly recalled her childhood and family life with her husband and three young sons to whom she had devoted her life. She grew up in a country town in New South Wales but says she was always interested in fashion and jewellery design because of her very active imagination.
It was not until Jan was 50 and after moving to Sydney in 1986 that she discovered a vacant shop in Double Bay and decided to open her first boutique in 1989. Her fine jewellery and designs are now worn by many international actresses including Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Watts. The brand also has strong links with the film industry. Australian actress Natasha Liu Borizzo who made her acting debut in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is now the company’s new ambassador.
Jan believes that it is never too late to start a new business and that her country life in rural New South Wales taught her that you have to believe in yourself, trust your instincts and just get on with it.
